Being 19 years old or older at the beginning of the course
Minimum core of literacy, language, numeracy, and ICT skills
A minimum of a Level 3 qualification in their own area of specialism, OR mature learners over 21 with relevant management experience
Evidence of English language competency for learners not from majority English-speaking countries

This qualification is internally assessed and quality assured by the centre, then externally quality assured by OTHM. It is a knowledge and demonstration-based qualification assessed through portfolio evidence demonstrating achievement of all learning outcomes.
