Course Features

Course Requirements

There are no formal academic entry requirements for this qualification. Centres must carry out an initial assessment of candidate knowledge and skills in order to develop the training and assessment plan. All candidates must meet the following criteria.

  • Candidates must be at least 18 years old on the day of registration

  • Candidates must complete the mandatory unit: Engaging in Close Quarter Battle in a Hostile Environment

Assessments

Each candidate must produce a portfolio of evidence demonstrating achievement of all learning outcomes and assessment criteria for the mandatory unit. Assessment is the process of measuring a candidate's skill, knowledge, and understanding against the qualification standards. Centre staff must be occupationally competent and qualified to make assessment decisions.

  • Observation report completed by a qualified assessor during practical activity

  • Photographic and/or video evidence of the candidate's practical work

  • Expert witness testimony from a suitably qualified or experienced professional

  • Candidate reflection on own practical work, supported by worksheets and oral or written questioning

Progression
