Course Requirements

Entry onto the OTHM Level 7 Diploma in Project Management is governed by the official entry criteria set by OTHM. Prospective learners must satisfy the following requirements before registering for the programme.

  • An honours degree in a related subject, a UK Level 6 Diploma, or an equivalent overseas qualification; learners from disciplines such as engineering, IT, environmental sciences, humanities, and languages are also encouraged to apply

  • Mature learners with relevant management experience may be considered; learners must check with their delivery centre regarding this experience prior to registration

  • Learners must be 21 years of age or older at the beginning of the course

  • Alternative professional qualifications combined with at least three years of relevant professional experience will also be considered

  • Learners not from a majority English-speaking country must provide evidence of English language competency in accordance with OTHM's English Language Expectations

Assessments

All units within this qualification are internally assessed by the approved centre and externally verified by OTHM. The qualification is criterion-referenced, meaning learners must demonstrate fulfilment of all specified learning outcomes to the standard required by the assessment criteria in order to achieve a Pass.

  • Coursework-based assessment: each unit is assessed through a written assignment of approximately 4000 words (2500 words for Advanced Research Methods)

  • Criterion-referenced standard: learners must meet all specified learning outcomes and assessment criteria for each unit to be awarded a Pass

  • Internal assessment by the centre's Assessor, who provides a full audit trail of how the Pass judgement was reached

  • External verification by OTHM to ensure consistency and quality of assessment across all approved delivery centres

Progression

Successful completion of the OTHM Level 7 Diploma in Project Management enables learners to progress into senior roles or continue academic study. OTHM has established progression arrangements with a number of UK universities offering advanced standing for learners entering Master's top-up programmes.

  • Progress to a Master's top-up programme (dissertation stage, 60 credits) at universities in the UK and overseas with advanced standing
