Course Requirements

There are no formal entry requirements for this qualification. However, centres must carry out an initial assessment of candidate skills and knowledge to identify gaps and plan the assessment process.

  • Candidates must be currently employed in a role involving the planning of lifting operations on a live construction site

  • Candidates should have sufficient occupational experience and opportunity to generate the required workplace evidence

Assessments

This qualification must be assessed in a work environment in accordance with the ConstructionSkills Consolidated Assessment Strategy for Construction and the Built Environment. Workplace evidence of skills cannot be simulated.

  • Portfolio of evidence demonstrating achievement of all learning outcomes and assessment criteria

  • Direct observation by an occupationally competent and qualified assessor

  • Professional discussion, witness testimony and oral or written questioning

  • Supporting evidence including assignments, projects, reports, candidate products and recognition of prior learning

Completion of this Level 5 NVQ Diploma provides a foundation for career advancement within the construction industry, particularly in lifting operations management and technical planning roles.
