Course Requirements

Entry onto the OTHM Level 7 Diploma in Accounting and Finance is governed by official OTHM entry requirements. All applicants must meet the following criteria prior to registration:

  • An honours degree in a related subject, a UK Level 6 diploma, or an equivalent overseas qualification

  • Mature learners (21 years or older) with relevant management experience may also be considered; applicants must confirm eligibility with the delivery centre prior to registration

  • Learners must be 21 years of age or older at the commencement of the course

  • English language competency is required for learners not from a majority English-speaking country; evidence of proficiency must be provided in accordance with OTHM's English Language Expectations

Assessments

All units within this qualification are internally assessed by the approved centre and externally verified by OTHM. The qualifications are criterion referenced, based on the achievement of all specified learning outcomes. Assessment is entirely via coursework; there are no examinations.

  • Written assignments of approximately 4,000–4,500 words per unit, submitted to the centre for assessment

  • Presentation-based assessment (e.g., a 15-minute presentation with an accompanying written report) for specified units such as Investment Analysis

  • Criterion-referenced assessment: learners must demonstrate fulfilment of all learning outcomes and meet all assessment criteria to achieve a Pass

  • External verification by OTHM of all internally assessed work to ensure standards and quality are maintained

Progression

Successful completion of the OTHM Level 7 Diploma in Accounting and Finance enables learners to progress into or within employment and to continue further academic study. As the qualification is approved and regulated by Ofqual, a wide range of progression routes are available:
