Course Requirements
Entry onto the OTHM Level 7 Diploma in Education Management and Leadership is subject to meeting the official academic, age, and language requirements set by OTHM. Applicants are advised to confirm eligibility with their chosen approved delivery centre prior to registration.
Possess an honours degree in a related subject, a UK Level 6 diploma, or an equivalent overseas qualification; OR be a mature learner with relevant management experience (to be confirmed with the delivery centre)
Be 21 years of age or older at the beginning of the course
Learners who are not from a majority English-speaking country must provide evidence of English language competency (refer to OTHM's English Language Expectations for accepted qualifications)
Assessments
All units within this qualification are internally assessed by the approved centre and externally verified by OTHM. The qualification is criterion-referenced, meaning that achievement is measured against clearly defined learning outcomes and assessment criteria for each unit. To achieve a pass, learners must provide evidence demonstrating that all learning outcomes have been met to the standard specified.
Internally marked coursework (essays and reports) for each unit, approximately 4,500 words per unit
Research proposal (50%) and research critique (50%) for the Research Methods in Education unit, each approximately 2,250 words
Judgement of achievement made by a qualified Assessor who provides a full audit trail
External verification of all assessed units conducted by OTHM to ensure consistency and quality
Progression
Achieving the OTHM Level 7 Diploma in Education Management and Leadership enables learners to progress into or within employment in the education sector and/or continue their academic studies.
