Course Requirements

Entry onto the OTHM Level 6 Diploma in Teaching and Learning requires learners to meet the following academic and language criteria as specified by OTHM. All applicants must be at least 18 years of age at the start of the programme.

  • Relevant NQF/QCF/RQF Level 5 diploma or an equivalent recognised qualification; OR mature learners (over 21) with relevant management experience (to be confirmed with the delivery centre prior to registration)

  • English language proficiency: learners not from a majority English-speaking country must provide evidence of English language competency as outlined on the OTHM English Language Expectations page

Assessments

All units within the OTHM Level 6 Diploma in Teaching and Learning are internally assessed by the approved centre and externally verified by OTHM. The qualification is criterion-referenced, meaning learners must demonstrate achievement of all specified learning outcomes and meet the standards set by all assessment criteria to achieve a pass.

  • Internal assessment by the centre through portfolio of evidence for each unit (approximately 4000 words per unit)

  • External verification of all assessed work carried out by OTHM

  • Criterion-referenced grading: Pass / Fail based on achievement of all learning outcomes

  • Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) may be considered for individual units where sufficient evidence of prior achievement exists

Progression

Successful completion of the OTHM Level 6 Diploma in Teaching and Learning enables learners to progress into employment or continue their academic journey. As an Ofqual-regulated qualification at RQF Level 6, it is recognised by UK universities for entry into higher-level programmes with advanced standing.
