There are no formal entry requirements for this qualification. However, ProQual requires centres to carry out an initial assessment of candidate skills and knowledge to identify any gaps and inform assessment planning.

  • Candidates must be working in the role of construction site manager in building and civil engineering, highways maintenance and repair, residential development, conservation, demolition, tunnelling, or retrofit, with sufficient day-to-day responsibilities to generate the evidence required

  • Workplace evidence of skills cannot be simulated; all evidence must come from real construction work environments and be assessed in accordance with the ConstructionSkills' Consolidated Assessment Strategy for Construction and the Built Environment

Assessments

This qualification is competence-based and is assessed entirely in a real work environment in accordance with the ConstructionSkills' Consolidated Assessment Strategy for Construction and the Built Environment.

  • Direct observation report by the assessor, evidencing real-time workplace performance against the specified competence standards

  • Assignments, projects, and written reports, professional discussions, and records of oral and written questioning used to demonstrate knowledge and understanding

  • Witness testimony from a professional with relevant occupational expertise who can confirm the candidate's competence in the workplace

  • Candidate work products, worksheets, and documentary evidence generated in the course of normal site management duties, together with Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) where applicable
