ProQual Level 6 NVQ Diploma in Construction Contracting Operations Management (Construction)

This qualification is competency-based, work-assessed, and nationally recognised on the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF), with a structured blend of mandatory and optional units totalling 1,150 hours of qualification time.

The ProQual Level 6 NVQ Diploma in Construction Contracting Operations Management (Construction) is a nationally recognised qualification that confirms occupational competence for those working at a managerial level in the construction industry. Accredited onto the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF) by Ofqual and published on Ofqual's Register of Qualifications, it has been developed in partnership with CITB to ensure full alignment with current industry needs and National Occupational Standards (NOS).

Candidates completing this qualification will develop and demonstrate competence across a broad range of construction contracting operations management activities, from health and safety governance through to procurement, contract control, and financial management, as defined in the official CITB-mapped learning outcomes.

• Establish, implement and maintain health, safety, welfare and wellbeing systems in the workplace

• Manage, allocate and assess the performance of teams and individuals

• Organise and lead meetings, facilitate discussion, and take and record decisions

• Develop and maintain professional working relationships and practise ethically

• Manage personal development through structured CPD planning and review

• Plan and conduct property surveys, condition inspections, and project requirement evaluations

• Coordinate project designs and specify production document requirements

• Develop programmes of works and procurement programmes aligned to project requirements

• Implement strategic supply chain management and sourcing partnerships

• Obtain, evaluate and submit tenders; appoint contractors in accordance with procurement requirements

• Control contract work quality, progress and costs in the workplace

• Prepare, agree and finalise interim valuations, entitlements and final accounts

This qualification is primarily intended for experienced professionals currently working in, or seeking employment in, construction contracting operations management at a managerial level. Candidates must be able to demonstrate their competence in a real working environment.
