There are no formal entry requirements for this qualification. Centres should carry out an initial assessment of candidate skills and knowledge to identify any gaps and help plan the assessment. Candidates must be in a role that enables them to generate the necessary workplace evidence against the units selected.

Assessments

The qualification is entirely competence-based with no formal written examinations. Each candidate produces a portfolio of evidence demonstrating achievement of all learning outcomes and assessment criteria. Evidence must be valid, authentic, and sufficient for all criteria, and one piece of evidence may be used to meet the requirements of more than one learning outcome.

  • Portfolio of evidence compiled by the candidate demonstrating competence against all learning outcomes

  • Observation reports completed by the qualified assessor

  • Professional discussion with the assessor to demonstrate knowledge and understanding

  • Witness testimony, assignments, projects, reports, worksheets, and records of oral or written questioning
